Looking To The Cross | Day 35 | Hebrews 9:27-28

“He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.”

These words from Hebrews 1:3 display the beauty of Christ in the fullness of His glory as he sits at the right hand of God and upholds the universe by the word of his power. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, moves all Creation forward to its appointed end. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, including you and me.

Yet, because of sin, our earthly bodies are temporary and mortal. Just as God knit you together in your mother’s womb and brought you forth on the day of your birth, so God has written all the days that were formed for you in His book and has appointed for you a time to die. He has fixed the day in which He will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom He has appointed, Jesus the Christ.

For those who remain in their sinful state, the day of the Lord will be one of wrath that seals their eternal separation from His presence. In contrast, for those of us who are in the Lord, we wait with hopeful anticipation for the coming of Christ which will usher us into His eternal dwelling place where we will forever experience the fullness of joy found only in Him. Come quickly, O Lord.

May we persevere as we await with eager expectation the coming of our King.
