Looking To The Cross | Day 32 | Titus 2:13-14

Few symbols are as well-known are hold greater recognition than that of the Cross.

For eons, across generations, among every people group, in every language, it points people to Christ. It was on a Cross that the penalty of our offenses against God were satisfied when Christ was unjustly executed for sins He had not committed, but willingly chose to die for, nonetheless. Because of the sacrifice and love of Christ, an instrument of torture, pain and humiliation was transformed into a symbol of Hope for those who believe.

When the Redeemed look at the cross, we see our past sins forgiven, our present given purpose today and our future is filled with the Hope that comes with knowing that the best is yet to come.

In as much as Christ was here, we believe He will come again and we are in waiting for that moment – often called “the glorious appearing” – when Christ will return to gather His Bride, the Church, to spend eternity living with the Father in Heaven. The cross is so much more than two pieces of wood fashioned together.

It is more than a reminder of the horrific cost of our sins. It is more than symbol of the high cost of our sins for our Perfect Savior. It is representative of the hope that lies before us. And that hope motivates us to be ready for His return, eager to be found doing good works, with anticipation of all that God has for us in eternity.
