Looking To The Cross | Day 30 | Colossians 2:13-15

If you listen to Christian financial counselor, Dave Ramsey on his radio show, periodically, he will have a couple come in who have paid off all their debts.

He invites them to his microphone where they shout at the top of their voices, “WE’RE DEBT FREE”!

This is what everyone who has repented of their sins and accepted Christ’s sacrifice on the cross can shout as well. Because of the cross, we are DEBT FREE! The law and all of its demands no longer has charge against us. Our past is forgiven, and our future is secured because Jesus paid the entire debt on Calvary with His blood. We live in freedom from that point forward.

Freedom from guilt, freedom from debt, freedom from bondage, freedom from condemnation. 

Sadly, many do not experience the full joy of living in the freedom that Christ provides. Too often, we return to the bondage of sins forgiven. We allow the Accuser to tell us we must do more. We fail to enjoy the new life we have where we can plan for our heavenly future because the penalty and burden of our sins has been removed.

The old man and the old debt are DEAD and new life awaits us. All because of the Cross!
